Вот еще несколько цитат, которые сами по себе имхо неплохо смотрятся, плюс иллюстрируют выражение
IN A NUTSHELL
Означает "in a few words" (POD).
На русский можно переводить по-разному. На мой взгляд, в нижеприведенных отрывках можно так: "Словом, в двух словах, как в капле воды, как на ладони, как облупленный". У кого есть под рукой эксмовские и другие русские переводы - может, посмотрите, как там сделано?

Captain Vimes ran up Short Street — the longest in the city, which shows the famous Morpork subtle sense of humour in a nutshell — with Sergeant Colon stumbling along behind, protesting.
~~~~~~~~~~~
"Because dragons have to mate in the air and he'll never be able to fly with those wings, I'm afraid. I'll be sorry to lose the bloodline, naturally. His sire was Brenda Rodley's Treebite Brightscale. Do you know Brenda?"
"Er, no," said Vimes. Lady Ramkin was one of those people who assumed that everyone else knew everyone one knew.
"Charming gel. Anyway, his brothers and sisters are shaping up very well."
Poor little bastard, thought Vimes. That's Nature for you in a nutshell. Always dealing off the bottom of the pack. (Guards! Guards!)
The old witch yanked the staff out of its shadow and waved it
vaguely at Esk.
"Here. It's yours. Take it. I just hope this is the right
thing to do."
In fact the presentation of a staff to an apprentice wizard
is usually a very impressive ceremony, especially if the staff has
been inherited from an elder wage; by ancient lore there is a long
and frightening ordeal involving masks and hoods and swords and
fearful oaths about people's tongues being cut out and their
entrails torn by wild birds and their ashes scattered to the eight
winds and so on. After some hours of this sort of thing the
apprentice can be admitted to the brotherhood of the Wise and
Enlightened.
There is also a long speech. By sheer coincidence Granny got
the essence of it in a nutshell. (Equal Rites)
But in a nutshell there's a lot of agonizing about this and it doesn't matter at all. Marriage isn't something someone does to someone else. It's perfectly all right if the woman asks, it ain't like it's begging. The important thing is to know the answer in advance. (Nanny Ogg's Cookbook)
